    Words order in simple sentences


    There are no fixed rules for which order information appears in a simple German sentence. But the traditional order is:

    time - reason - manner - place 

    or

    when? why? how? where?

     

     

    Ex: Hans ist am Montag aus Langeweile mit der Straßenbahn in die Stadgefahren.

    The verbs always stay in the second and last positions.
