Verbs with dative object pronoun
When do you use "mir" (dative) and when "mich" (accusative) ? That depends on the main verb of the sentence. Almost all German verbs prefer the accusative forms (mich), but there are some which prefer the dative forms (mir). Here are five of them: antworten = to answer danken = to thank gehören = to belong to glauben = to believe helfen = to help With these verbs you use mir, dir, ihm, ihr, uns, euch, ihnen.
