Plurals of Nouns Ending in -el
Nouns that end in -el can take the following plural forms:
Umlaut | -n | No change |
der Mantel -> die Mäntel | die Gabel -> die Gabeln | der Onkel -> die Onkel |
der Apfel -> die Äpfel | der Muskel -> die Muskeln | der Stiefel -> die Stiefel |
Those nouns that have no change are the most common.
